As part of my journey, I have explored many resources from a variety of sources. This list will highlight some of the books and podcasts that I have found to be inspirational.

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Peter Attia, MD

The last few chapters of this book were my favourite. He approaches health at a holistic level including body, mind and soul. I appreciated the wisdom of a physician’s voice on health with a deeper look into his personal journey of mental health and healing.

The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt

This book is a must read for teachers and parents.

Peace is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life by Thich Nhat Hanh

This is a book that I have listened to multiple times. Each time, I glean new information. The wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh is very applicable in today’s busy life.

PTSD Bunker Gear for your Brain by Carl Waggett

These 15 minute podcasts peek into Carl’s personal experiences with PTSD, Depression and Anxiety. He walks through his feelings, emotions, and his healing journey in an honest and humorous manner. He puts a candid spin on how to get support and healing for PTSD and mental health struggles. He bares his soul, so others can find healing.

Yoga with Adriene: This video that fosters a Nervous System Regulation is one of my personal favourites.

Coached by Nikki Dyer: Nikki creates meditations based upon the moon cycles. Anyone that has taught in schools knows that “full moons” are a real thing. Her affirmations and gratitude meditations affirm that as teachers, we are exactly where we need to be.
